About the Artist
My name is Nicky Hill and my career in design/visual display has spanned over three decades beginning in the early 90's where I studied Graphic Art in Waterford.
Combining photography and a keen imagination I began to explore the possibilities of Photo Mosaics nearly fifteen years ago when good friends were getting married, they asked any of their 'creative' guests to make a gift..... little did I know I would become passionate about the one I made!
The process involves taking photos from any occasion and cutting them in to a single piece of art, at first glance the picture seems abstract, however on closer inspection the images start to emerge. These unique pieces can be for weddings, anniversaries, christenings and other special events where memories need to be cherished.
Loving the outdoors and lucky enough to have lived in Dublin by the sea for most of my life, I am forever inspired by my surroundings, whether it's taking in the sunsets at Seapoint or sea views at the top of Killiney Hill, I apply the same mosaic process from photos taken on my oudoor pursuits and create stand alone pieces of Art...happy browsing through my shop and gallery!
